Nicolas Tixier et Marc Higgin enseignants-chercheurs au CRESSON, sont invités à la Nuit des idées 2024 à Chicago par l’Institut Français – Villa Albertine et par le Chicago Architecture center. Ils y dévoileront l’installation unique du « Ball Theater » et « Radio Utopia », une installation sonore (Radio Utopia / News from the World) dans la continuité de ce qui avait fait à la XVIIIe biennale d’architecture de Venise avec le studio Muoto.
En effet, en plus des 150 enregistrements collectés pour la Biennale de Venise 2023, le public de Chicago composé de particuliers, de structures locales, d’écoles et autres institutions- contribuera à ce projet. Les enregistrements seront sélectionnés par les coordinateurs du projet Radio Utopia, qui les chargeront ensuite sur les 40 haut-parleurs de l’installation.
Dans le prolongement de Radio Utopia, « Nouvelles du monde », les chercheurs du CRESSON feront également une intervention à l’IIT Illinois Institute of Technology, qui s’intitule « Comment sonne le monde ? », une approche de nos espaces habités par l’écoute.

Nicolas Tixier and Marc Higgin, teacher-researchers at CRESSON, have been invited to the Nuit des idées 2024 in Chicago by the Institut Français – Villa Albertine and the Chicago Architecture Center. There, they will reveal the unique installation of the « Ball Theater » and « Radio Utopia », a sound installation (Radio Utopia / News from the World) in the continuity of what was presented at the XVIII Venice Architecture Biennale with the Muoto studio.
In addition to the 150 collected recordings that were gathered for the 2023 Venice Architecture Biennale, individuals, local associations and institutions , schools and groups in Chicago and beyond are now invited to contribute to this project through an open call. Recordings will be selected and curated by Muoto/Radio Utopia project coordinators, who will then proceed to load the chosen recordings onto the installations’ 40 different speakers.
